When you connect your Canvas LMS account to our platform, we collect the following information based on the permissions you grant via your access token:

    • Your Canvas User ID
    • Your primary email address associated with your Canvas account
  • Canvas Access Token: The access token you provide to allow our platform to interact with the Canvas API on your behalf.
  • General Course Details: Non-user-specific information about your enrolled courses, such as:
    • Course names
    • Course codes
    • Course sections
    • Course start and end dates
    • Other publicly available course metadata

How We Use Canvas LMS Data

We use the information collected from your Canvas LMS account for:

  • Connecting to your Canvas account using your Canvas User ID and email
  • Accessing general course details to display within our platform
  • Facilitating on-demand access to your course data (we do not store detailed personal course data on our servers)

How We Store and Protect Your Canvas Access Token

Your Canvas access token is stored in an encrypted format on our secure servers. The encryption key is managed using industry-standard security practices and is not stored alongside the encrypted token.

We do NOT store:

  • Your unencrypted Canvas access token
  • Your sensitive, user-specific course data from Canvas

Your Choices Regarding Canvas Data

  • You can change or delete your Canvas access token at any time through account settings. Additionally, you can delete the access token given to us at any time through the Canvas LMS's profile settings page.
  • Deleting your account on our platform will remove all associated Canvas information.
